Christmas Dinner 2012

While the rest of the house slept, Danica, Buppa and I set the table, and got Christmas dinner ready.  We hoped that everyone would wake up from their naps, and be feeling better.
Danica spent time making place cards for the dinner table
Then helped me set the table.
When the rest of the family got up from their naps. Danica and JJ helped light the Advent Candles.

Then we all gathered round the table for the feast.
Buppa and his favorite girl sat beside each other.
After dinner it was time to write in the memory journal.  Danica did her note at the table...

...but Amma and JJ waited until coffee was served in the living room.  Here I am helping JJ write his note.
Danica helped me write mine.....

Christmas afternoon 2012

Not much went on all afternoon.  We spent a lot of time trying to keep JJ's temp down, and once it started to descend a bit, everyone went to lie down for a while and rest a bit.  JJ and Mommy fell into a deep sleep and didn't get up until dinner time.  Daddy couldn't sleep but at least he had a rest.  Amma and Buppa tried to have a rest, but Danica was feeling just fine thank-you very much, and she was up and about and wanted into everything.

I finally gave up, and played a game of Hungry Hippos with her.  Buppa was not far behind me, and helped Danica make place cards for the dinner table.  They then came upstairs and helped me set the table, and start dinner.
Buppa relaxing in the front room, whilst waiting to help me with dinner.
I helped Danica get dressed and get all her finery on. She looks lovely doesn't she?
I think she is quite pleased with all the bling.
We are trying to get a good picture of the ear-cuff I made her for Christmas.  It is quite dangly and sparkly, and just the ticket to go with her new tiara.
JJ got up just before dinner, and his fever had broken.  He was nice and cool, even if a bit groggy from his afternoon nap.  He posed for this picture with sister, before he joined us at the table for a feast of toast for dinner.

Christmas morning 2012

These pics don't need a lot of words.  So I'll let them speak for themselves.  Enjoy!

Christmas Eve 2012

After the fragrant oven stuffing was cooked at our house, and the creamed onion casserole wrapped up and ready to travel, we headed over to the kids place just in time to take the turkey out of the oven over there, and carve it, so it would be ready for Christmas Dinner the next day.

Cold germs were giving us a royal battle, but we armed ourselves with cold meds, and marched headlong into the fight.  I put on the sparkliest outfit in my cupboard,  grabbed my camera, and went in search of some warm Christmas memories to capture.

This will do nicely for starters...both kids waiting patiently by the fireplace.  I wonder who they are looking for?
We gave the kids a small toy to open on Christmas Eve, and Danica worked hard to get hers to work.  It was supposed to light up and sing when you got it spinning fast enough.
I think this tells the tale on how JJ was feeling.
I wonder if Danica is listening for something or someone coming down the chimney?

Even Asha, the cat, joined us for this picture.

In spite of the coughs and colds, we had fun on Christmas Eve.
JJ showed us some of his Power Ranger fighting moves.
Danica was thrilled with her new PJ's

JJ was pleased with his too.
Time for a pose in their new duds...
...before snuggling down on the kid's couch to watch The Polar Express.
